DOW MCP Connector

Bring donde-onde-where’s hot lists of independent restaurants and bars into Claude and other AI assistants — UK, Portugal and Spain, ranked monthly by native-language review velocity. No chains, no paid placements.

Add the connector

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste this URL:

No account, sign-in or API key is required. The connector is read-only — it can look things up, but it can never change anything.

Once added, ask Claude things like:

  • “Where should I eat in Porto right now?”
  • “What's hot in Manchester's Northern Quarter this month?”
  • “Find me an independent wine bar in Porto and tell me what it's known for.”
  • “Which neighbourhoods does donde-onde-where cover in Seville?”
  • “How dense and well-rated is the food scene in Cedofeita, Porto?”
  • “What new restaurants have been added in Porto in the last 30 days?”

Claude will call the tools below, then answer with DOW’s editorial profiles and real reviewer signals — not just raw scores.

What it can do

Six read-only tools:

  • dow_zonesList the zones (neighbourhoods) DOW indexes in a city, with venue counts and velocity tier.
  • dow_hot_listTop independent restaurants and bars in a city or zone, ranked by current momentum.
  • dow_venue_lookupLook up a specific venue by name — editorial profile, rating, signature dishes, and link.
  • dow_zone_healthDensity and quality signals for a neighbourhood — venues tracked, rating, newcomers.
  • dow_recently_addedVenues newly profiled in a city — discover places not yet written about elsewhere.
  • dow_ai_citation_statusWhether a venue has been cited by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity in DOW's probe corpus.

Coverage

DOW indexes independent restaurants and bars across 33 cities in the UK, Portugal and Spain — deliberately the secondary and tertiary cities that mainstream guides skip (Porto, Manchester, Seville, Granada, San Sebastián, Bilbao, and more). It does not cover London, Madrid or Barcelona. Use dow_zones to see exactly which cities and neighbourhoods are live.

Rankings come from the transparent Hot Score formula: review velocity + baseline rating + recency + Google Business Profile completeness, with native-language reviews weighted higher.

Troubleshooting

  • Tools don’t appear after adding the connector? Reload Claude, or remove and re-add the connector at https://booteek.ai/api/mcp/mcp. No sign-in is required — if you’re prompted for credentials, you’ve added the wrong URL.
  • “City not covered” or empty results? DOW covers 33 specific cities, not everywhere. Ask “which cities does donde-onde-where cover?” or call dow_zones for a city to see live coverage. London, Madrid and Barcelona are intentionally excluded.
  • AI-citation lookup says “not found”? dow_ai_citation_status needs a Google Place ID. Run dow_venue_lookup first and use the place_id from a result.
  • Nothing is being changed in your data — by design. Every tool is read-only; the connector can look things up but never writes, books, or modifies anything.

Data & privacy

  • The connector returns only public, aggregate venue data — the same information shown on donde-onde-where.com. No reviewer identities or personal review content.
  • It collects no personal data from you: no account, no tracking, no profiling. It receives only your search terms (a city, zone, venue name or place ID).
  • It is read-only, rate-limited, and backed by a database role scoped to public venue data.
